Abilities:
Sodachi’s roots, when he chooses to use them, move fast and are difficult to predict. Sodachi uses these to feed, and upon capturing someone the roots will force themselves beneath the victim’s skin and proceed to suck their blood.
In order to sleep, defend himself, or hide himself, Sodachi turns back into a tree. It is impossible to identify him from other trees. Furthermore, cutting Sodachi down will only cause him to revert to his human state…it won’t do him much harm.
Sodachi can heal incredibly fast. He may also give his blood or branches to another to heal them.
Sodachi can assimilate other plants into himself.

Short Bio:
The seedling that would fall and grow into the tree that came before Sodachi fell during the Ōnin War in the 1400’s. This war would last ten years and trigger the devastating Warring States Period. This tree grew upon earth that repeatedly experienced bloodshed, and became demonic and grew conscious of itself within its first decade of life. The tree grew fast and became massive, its roots swallowing and assimilating trees around himself, but sucking the life from nearby plant life wasn’t enough to satisfy him. He would constantly consume passing soldiers by tripping them, embedding his roots into their flesh, and absorbing their blood. He remained a stationary tree for more than 200 years. The reason he was forced to remove himself from this was because a human began to cut him down (or at least tried to). Needless to say, the human was consumed. Sodachi was forced to abandon his deeply embedded roots and walk the earth, which made it even easier for him to follow and capture his prey.
Hundreds of years passed, and Sodachi began to find himself more and more confused by the growing industrialization. His hunger was still as strong as ever, but with the dwindling forests he found it progressively more difficult to hunt and feed.
He was discovered by the school and taken in and taught of the world that he seemed very much thrust into. He has resided there for several years and taken on a teaching position.

Personality:
Sodachi has…an odd air about him. He can seem perfectly harmless and predictable, while at other times there’s a thick, daunting malevolence that surrounds his presence. His voice is soft, and his sentences, more often than naught, are brief and to the point. Although, when he doesn’t limit himself to three or less words, he can speak with almost inexplicable wisdom that might either be inspiring or terrifying.
Sodachi is calculating and insightful, so trying to trick this old tree probably isn’t a wise idea. He is also extremely patient and difficult to perturb, so he is very good at keeping his wits about him even in the most stressful of situations. Trying to sneak up on him isn’t the best idea, either, because his reaction might not be what you were hoping to expect…

Other:
Sodachi is very fond of his potted bonsai trees…it is rumored that the seeds of each of these were imbedded in a human heart...and watered with the bloods of badly behaving students..but it's all rumor, of course.
the tree growths upon Sodachi’s body are spontaneous and irregular. They tend to grow faster after he’s fed well.
When Sodachi is hungry, his growths will cause veins to rise beneath his flesh and his eyes will become so bloodshot that his corneas will turn red.
He is almost always found wearing black, as if he is in constant mourning.
Sodachi's greatest weaknesses include fire and long range weaponry.
His clothes are often very simple and comfortable..he despises wearing shoes and clothes that prevent him from moving freely.

Reason for Applying?
I like playing professor rolls and helping students...or is this meant for the character?
Sodachi was probably looking for some sort of haven. As a creature of nature, his world is kind of collapsing around him as the human kind grows...he also wishes to teach students to respect the environment.
